Questions
Questions we hear most
What happens on a visit?
Two painters arrive in a window we text you the day before, walk the house with you, then work through the list for a half day or a full day, depending on the tier. You get a written list within the week.
How is this different from calling a painter when I need one?
The visit is on the calendar, so small things get fixed before they become a repaint, and your colors are already on file. If your house needs one small fix every few years, calling is fine.
What is not included?
Water damage, rot, drywall or plaster repair beyond hairline cracks, and repainting a whole wall or room unless your tier says so. We write those up on your list and quote them before any work.
Is a membership insurance or a warranty?
No. It is a service agreement for visits. Any warranty from a past paint job is separate, and its terms, limits and exclusions are in that job’s written warranty.
How do I cancel?
Call or text before your renewal date. We text a reminder 30 days ahead. Visits already made are not refunded, and an unused visit does not carry over.
What if I only paint one room or the outside?
Tell us at the walk-through. A tier is a starting point; we write the list around the rooms and surfaces you have.
Who buys the paint?
We do, from the color record. The record names the paint line and the sheen; ask for the product data sheet and we send it.
Do I have to be home?
For the walk-through, yes. After that, many members give a code or a key and are out at work. You choose, and we text when the crew arrives and leaves.
Will you move furniture and cover floors?
Yes. We cover floors and furniture near the work and keep one path clear. We move what we can lift safely and leave the rest for you to move.
My house was built before 1978. Does that change a visit?
Yes. EPA’s Renovation, Repair and Painting rule covers paid work that disturbs paint in homes built before 1978. Tell us the year when you join. Scraping, sanding and caulk removal on those homes follow lead-safe work practices, and our firm number is in the footer.
What about the weather?
Inside visits do not care. Outside work needs dry days and paint that can cure, so we schedule those on dry days and do not promise a date in advance.
Can you match a color you do not have a record for?
Usually, from a sample of the wall. The match is closest on a wall that has not faded; we tell you at the walk-through if we think a patch will show.
What if the house needs a repaint?
We tell you, in writing, with what a repaint would involve. Many members who repaint with us stay on the membership; a repaint is a separate written estimate.
Is my deposit or annual payment refundable?
The annual price is billed once, on the date you join. Visits already made are not refunded; the terms are on the membership page and in your agreement.
